My commitment
I want this site to work for everyone, whatever their ability or the device they use. I aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which Israeli Standard 5568 is based on.
What the site does
- Keyboard use. Links, buttons and form fields can be reached and used from the keyboard, and a "Skip to content" link is the first item on every page.
- Structure. Pages use real headings, lists and landmarks, so a screen reader can move through them in order.
- Visible focus. The element in focus is always outlined.
- Readable text. Body text is large, dark on a white background, and set in a narrow column.
- Any screen size. The layout adapts from phones to wide monitors and still works when you zoom in.
- Works without scripts. Articles and guides can be read with JavaScript switched off.
- Accessibility toolbar. A UserWay toolbar is available on every page.
The accessibility toolbar
Look for the accessibility icon in the bottom-right corner of any page. It opens the UserWay toolbar, which lets you change the page to suit you without installing anything:
- Larger text and wider spacing
- High-contrast and dark colour modes
- A more readable font, including one designed for dyslexia
- Highlighted links
- A reading guide and a reading mask
Known limitations
- The email address is behind a picture code. A visitor who cannot see the picture cannot solve it. The same box always offers a LinkedIn link as another way to reach me.
- Decorative illustrations at the top of articles and guides have no text description, because they add no information.
- The toolbar is a third-party tool, so I do not control every detail of how it behaves.
Tell me about a problem
If something on roni.io does not work for you, I want to know. Use the contact box on the About page and tell me which page and what happened. I will do my best to fix it.
If you are in Israel and are not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Justice.
