The Vision

After gaining recognition in the cybersecurity community through my vulnerability disclosures, my partners and I saw an opportunity: there was huge demand for practical, hands-on security training, but few accessible options for students and professionals looking to get started.

We decided to create something different -not just another lecture-based course, but an intensive, practical workshop that would take participants from theory to real-world application in a compressed timeframe.

The Workshop

We designed and executed a comprehensive 6-hour cybersecurity workshop spanning two days:

  • Duration: 6 intensive hours across 2 days
  • Participants: Over 100 attendees including students, working professionals, and industry experts
  • Format: Hands-on exercises, real-world scenarios, and practical security challenges
  • Topics: Covered everything from web application security to network penetration testing

Major Sponsorships

The scale and quality of the workshop attracted significant corporate backing:

  • 2BSecure (Matrix) - Leading cybersecurity firm providing expertise and resources
  • Google Campus TLV - Venue and infrastructure support
  • Domino’s Pizza - One of the companies where I had previously disclosed vulnerabilities, now supporting security education
  • Uber - Contributing to make the event accessible to more participants

The Impact

The workshop was a success beyond our expectations. Seeing over 100 people from diverse backgrounds come together to learn security principles was incredibly rewarding. Some attendees were complete beginners, others were experienced developers looking to add security skills -everyone found value.

What I Learned

Running this workshop taught me skills that would prove invaluable in my career:

  • Event planning and execution at scale
  • Teaching complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Building relationships with corporate sponsors
  • Community building and engagement
  • Project management and coordination

More importantly, it showed me that I could create educational experiences that had real impact. This experience of teaching and enabling others would influence how I approached knowledge sharing throughout my career -from documentation to blog posts to mentoring.

It’s one thing to be good at something. It’s another thing entirely to help others become good at it too.
